Installed to ensure that guests at the luxury resort ? which is well-known for its eco-credentials ? can take advantage of free electric refills during their stay, the electric charging station was put in place in December 2011.
Now the resort owners are looking to utilise the potential of electric travel to attract more visitors by pioneering a competition in which the first four people who arrive at Langdale over the May Bank Holiday via electric car will receive a complimentary night?s stay.
Sustainable tourism is a big thing for the Langdale Resort and their substantial environmental policies have been acknowledged by a Gold Standard Green Tourism Award.
